Muslim leader piles praise for son as he curses other over gay allegations.

There was drama recently at a prominent muslim wedding when a father only had praise for the groom but also used the same podium to curse his other son. Hajji Wamala Badru Mukwaya a prominent Muslim leader in Kampala used his few minutes of fame at his son’s wedding to disown his other unmarried son Rashid Wamala over gay accusations.While Hassan wasswa and his wife Jamilah Kalanda were getting blessed, unmarried Rashid who resides in Toronto, Canada and is an elder brother to the groom was geting disowned by his father. In Hajji’s speech, he thanks his son Hassan Wasswa of not disappointing him like his other elder brother Rashid Wamala who he accused of being gay and deliberately refusing to marry.

We have also learnt that Hajji Wamala Badru also fell out with her daughter Nabukenya Halima Wamala who also flew to Canada and followed his elder brother Rashid over same accusations.

Boom party at comedy store as Cindy, Vinka entertain

It was an all female affair at comedy store as Vinka and Cindy put up rememberable performances at UMA. Both known for their crazy stage performances, the crowd kept on their feet through out the two artistes’ performances.

First was Vinka who stepped on stage with her single Luyimba lyomwaka, before going on rampage with her Love Doctor, Over dose, Sweet Love, Malaika, Sure and closing her exhibition with Mapozi.

Cindy closed the show with an epic performance along her dancers as she thronged through the crowd. The crowd seemed to appreciate her earlier songs but also enjoyed her latest Boom Party.

The comedy show also featured comedians Kalela, MadRat and Chiko, MC Kapale, Uncle Mark among others.

Comedy Store takes place every Thursday at UMA show ground and is hosted by comedian Alex Muhangi.

Nakasero based Pearl of Africa hotel is slowly gaining momemtum in night life parties. Not so long ago it was known not to be a venue for parties but that has since changed since NBS resident presentet MC kats took over.

The Wednesday night has since picked up and many city party animals have made it a den for the Wednesday night life.

We can confirm that because of an impressive start by Kats the hotel management has given him an extra night Mondays.

StarTimes & China Film companies give back

StarTimes has come through once again for some children in the community. It was in 2003 that a one Isaac Nabwana IGG founded a school named Crane Educational Centre in the slums of Wakaliga. You may know him as the man behind Wakaliwood, the popular film company that has produced local action movies with martial arts as a big element. His work has attracted many to his camp and lately, 5 top film companies from China came to pay him and his school a visit, joined by StarTimes which has been a supporter of the school for a few years now.

The production companies that donated to the school are recognized as the Top 5 best in China. They are: Ciwen Media Group Co. Ltd, Hangzhou Jiaping Pictures Co. Ltd, Shanghai Linmon Pictures Co. Ltd, Daylight Entertainment Co. Ltd, and National Radio and Television Administration. With StarTimes, they gave the children school requirements such as exercise books, sets, school bags, and pencil cases. Crane Educational Centre has a total of 375 kids with 21 members of staff who do their level best for the children. Isaac Nabwana stated that, “I am happy about the gesture because the donations from StarTimes and the Chinese are aimed at easing the conditions in which these children study as well as their general welfare. The Chinese chose my school because it is well known for promoting the Chinese culture especially through Kung Fu training both at school and in the community.”

12 kids made a Kung Fu presentation for the Chinese guests who were grateful for the efforts the school puts in to teach the Chinese culture and also thanked Isaac Nabwana for his work. They shared their intentions of creating a relationship between Uganda and China in regards to film production in future. The children also got to be entertained with a screening of an animation which they enjoyed, and after which, proceeded home.

We have had a relationship with this school for some time now and we try to provide what is necessary to help them excel. Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces makes us happy too. Isaac is doing something positive for his community and we believe that our support encourages and motivates him to soar on. We do our best to contribute to the development of society.” said Cleopatra Koheirwe, the PR Manager at StarTimes
