Music Review: Malaika by Jamal

Jamal Wasswa

Oh my! Oh my! This is music. Soothing roots reggae beats blare off as Jamal’s soothing voice serenades the listener. Jamal is on point with this love drenched romantic song. His lucid expression makes the song a lovely tune in this month of love.

In Kiswahili, he describes his lover as an “angel”. Jamal croons on and on throughout the song making it dangerously irrestible. Jamal’s smooth voice akin to fridge frozen glassful of smoothie is a tune worth dedicating to your lover.

Jamal takes his time and its no wonder his songs are neither rushed nor promoted on impulse. He thrives on his art workmanship to deliver incredibly beautiful music.

The song has such a cool video. He dons a Dashiki, the sellout African wear as he dances with a skinny white lover. The grand rise of the buildings paint a delicate picture of a love relationship under scrutiny. However, the song is a perfect tune for your loved ones.
