On new year’s day, a Sweden-based Ugandan kick boxer Ronald Mugula faced tragedy at Freedom City in Kampala Uganda in a failed battle against Abdallah Hessen, an Egyptian expert and well trained kick boxer. The loss of Ronald Mugula was much attributed to his poor display of art and fitness.
Ronald Mugula a 26 year old Ugandan based in Sweden tussled with an 18 year old Egyptian kick boxer Abdallah Hessen in a world intercontinental welterweight fight. Mugula went on to lose the global kick-boxing championship belt to Abdallah Hessen.
Istvan Rozman, the match supervisor and a 2-1 referees’ decision, Mugula lost by four points as the referee scorecards indicated 48-46, 48-45 and 45-49 points, totalling to 144 and 140 points for Hessen and Mugula respectively.
However Mugula says, “I gave him a count in the first round and as in the international standards I was meant to win but if the referees have decided so I have to go with the decision.” And therefore he declares himself the rightful winner of the match by international standards.
