MTN customers to win back to school shopping in MoMo pay trolley dash.

  • Customers stand a chance to shop goods worth shs1million each in 60 seconds in a series of trolley dash experiences.
  • To stand a chance to enter the draw, customers have to make a minimum of 2 MoMo Pay transactions each week.
  • The Trolley Dash that started on Saturday 18th January 2020 at Fraine Supermarket in Kigoowa, had 3 lucky winners walk away with shopping worth UGX 1,000,000. Another five customers shopped at Cynable Supermarket Bunga on Saturday The next trolley dash is slated for 1st February at, Shoprite Clock Tower on 1st February and finally Kenjoy in Nansana on 8th February.

With the back to school season just round the corner, MTN Uganda is giving its customers an opportunity to win back to school shopping through a series of trolley dash events held at various supermarkets around the city.

The winning customers will however be those that have embraced MoMo pay, MTN’s mobile payment platform that allows customers to pay for goods and services directly from their mobile money accounts at no cost to the customer. Retailers and businesses receive the payments for the goods and services instantly.

On Saturday, five lucky customers participated in a trolley dash at Shoprite Clock tower, taking home goods worth shs1million each. The next trolley das shopping spree will take place at Kenjoy Supermarket in Nansana, a Kampala suburb.

“I feel so excited that I was selected to take part in this trolley dash. It has surely saved my from the headache of finding money to shop for my children going back to school next week. Thank you MTN,” one of the lucky shoppers said.

Ali Monzer the General Manager Mobile Financial Services at MTN said that there are still more opportunities for customers to win this shopping experience and called on all Mobile Money customers to start paying for their goods using MoMo pay in order to win win this shopping experience.

“At such a time as this, the money would really come in handy. I therefore encourage more people to adopt MoMo pay as a way to pay for their goods and servives, not only because its convenient andrisk free, but also because there is a lot to win.”

Up to 20 customers will be selected from a draw to participate in a trolley dash where they shall be allowed to shop merchandise of up to 1 million shillings in 60 seconds. To stand a chance to enter the draw, customers are required to make 2 MoMoPay transactions each week.

MoMoPay is MTN’s way of creating convenience for customers and merchants alike. “The world is going cashless today. It’s now more convenient to go cashless than to carry lots of cash on you. You can literally run your life using MoMoPay. You can pay for your meals, medication, car service, shopping and several other services using MoMoPay,” Monzer said.

This service is available to merchants who register for the service and all MTN Mobile Money customers.
