Woman MP of Kampala district Nabilah Naggayi Sempala is furious over the arrest of singer Catherine Kusasira and has even branded the judiciary corrupt.
In an angry facebook post, the MP said it wasn’t right for the judiciary to make the “Enkola ya taxi” singer spend the night in prison without being charged.
She said: “It is a malicious practice by mafia-like lawyers to connive with Magistrates and take someone to Prison citing late file entry! Abamu fitina yebatuusa awo! Tulabye nnyo! Omwogezi wabalamuzi Kisawuuzi aveeyo ayogerekunsonga zino! Okuzza omusango kirala Naye nokupalapalanya okusuza omuntu mu kkomera mubutali butuufu kibi! She has not yet been charged but just sent to spend an anonymous night in Kigo! I wish Catherine Kusasira a free and fair judicial process”
Golden Band singer Catherine Kusasira spent Wednesday night behind bars at Kigo Prison for fraud and obtaining money by false pretence.
