All speculations linking Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic to Sudan giants Al Hilal Omdurman were buried off deep into the ground after the tactician was rewarded with a contract extension of two years.

Information coming in from the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) indicates that the Serbian will remain Cranes head coach for the next two years. Micho’s contract extension comes as no surprise to many since the 46 year old had earlier mentioned that he still had a dream with Uganda.

The contract extension may come as good news to the football fraternity however not all of them were pleased with the development.

“Micho has failed to help us achieve what we have always craved for in the past 38 years which is taking us to the Africa Cup of Nations. To make matters worse our Under-23 team has just been dumped out of the All Africa Games’ qualifiers by Mozambique under his watch,” Christian Mugenyi, an attacking midfielder on the Makerere University team said.

“What reason does the federation give for retaining him,” he added.

However, a one Cranes die hard hailed the federation’s decision.

“I think FUFA is right about that. Micho needs a second chance and if he fails then maybe they can get rid of him,” a one Matovu Matthew said.

This also puts an end to the dreams of Al Hilal who had also claimed that they were still waiting for the Serbian and it was just a matter of time before he joins them.
