Scandalous information sipping in from the organizers of the Miss Uganda pageant and current franchise owners Kezzi Entertainment, owned by celebrated makeup artiste and designer Brenda Nanyonjo, is that the franchise is again up for grabs.
This follows the company’s overwhelming day-to-day losses that have been incurred from the 2012-13 and 2013-2014 pageants which were won by Phiona Bizzu and Stella Nantumbwe respectively.
Initially Miss Uganda franchise was run and managed by Sylvia Owori who sold it off to Solaya Zalwango, who then sold it to the controversial UK based Joyce Church before eventually Brenda Nanyonjo took it up but now she is also contemplating calling it quits.
Information reaching us reveals that since the 2012 event, Nanyonjo and her entire team have been on a serious hunt for someone to purchase the franchise following subsequent severe losses. It is the said losses and failure to zero on a potential buyer that almost forced them to call off last year’s event, however, they got hold of a secret partner, who is said to have opted out after the flop.
Our sources have further revealed that if Brenda fails to get a buyer of the franchise or a partner, this year’s edition of the Miss Uganda Beauty pageant hangs in balance.
