The much awaited and highly anticipated Miss Uganda beauty pageant has been launched. It was unveiled yesterday by Gen Salim Sale who is among the top officials in the UPDF, at Common Wealth resort Munyonyo.
Launched under the theme, “Making Agricultural Entreprenuership Attractive to Young Women in Uganda”, the Miss Uganda franchise is set to embark on a nationwide tour in order to sensitize people on the beauty and importance of agriculture to the nation. According to Gen. Saleh, there will be a complete week boot camp in Namunkekera where people will learn about growing so many kinds of crops and on how to add value to them.
This satisfies the initial strategy when UPDF was taking over the Miss Uganda beauty franchise in order to attract young people into the agricultural sector so as to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the nation.
