After being voted into office as the new chairperson of Express Football Club, new State Minister for youth and Children, Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi has promised heaven on earth to the Wankulukuku based club.

Lately, Minister Nakiwala has been directly involved in the day-to-day matters of the Red Eagles and also launched the #Express@60 campaign towards the end of last season. It’s a campaign under which the club will be celebrating 60 years of existence next season.

Speaking to the media about her new position, Kiyingi said; “For a while the club has had financial problems and that’s a public secret. The team has always had to sell it’s best players to sustain itself but that will be no more.”

The six time league champions finished third last season and last had a touch of silverware back in 2012 when they won the league title under the charges of Omulangila Sam Ssimbwa Bamweyana.

However, Nakiwala has promised to work hand-in-hand with the new executive board to bring next season’s league trophy home to Wankulukuku and much more after that.

She also promised better pays for the players, a better environment under which coach Wasswa Bbosa will be given the liberty to select his technical staff and also improve the general standards of the club.
