Uganda head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has said he does not fear The Teranga Lions of Senegal whom they face on September 7 in a crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier.

“They are a very good team that we respect, but we do not fear them.

They have good individual players playing in top leagues, but we shall be facing 11 players whom we shall be very prepared for come September 7th,” said the Serb.

Speaking about the absence of Senegal’s leading striker Papiss Cisse for the crucial match, the Ugandan coach said it is good because it reduces their fire power in search of goals.

“They also have many good players who can score, but the Newcastle player is in his own class,” added Micho.

The coach also said that after his four big wins since taking over the Cranes on May 21st, he is not over the moon because he knows what is ahead is a tough hurdle.

“I have told the players that we have so far achieved nothing and we need to show the world that we can play football and achieve, and this only comes by working hard.”

The Cranes need an outright victory to progress to the next round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Senegal lead the group with nine points, while Uganda, who last appeared in the 1978 Africa Cup of Nations and never in the World Cup, have one point  less. Senegal managed to pick up a 1-1 draw in Kampala in their last meeting last year.

After their 3-0 loss away to six time African champions Egypt last week in an international friendly, Uganda is leaving nothing to chance as they plan a camp in Istanbul, Turkey, where they also hope to play some build-up games.
