I am very certain it must be nice day for every Arsenal fan .Well, I am not an Arsenal fan but I am in extreme envy of Arsenal after that last ditch snap up of Mesut Ozil’s signature. Arsene Wenger and the whole Arsenal fraternity must be super excited.
After failed attempts to lure the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez to the Emirates, Wenger is definitely laughing loud at all his critics. The move was a pricy one after coughing 42.5 million pounds to land the playmaker but what a move. You wonder where all other clubs were looking but you have got to give it up to the Economist for some quick movements on deadline day.
The capture was a good one meant to motivate the other players and to announce Arsenal’s title challenge.
Mesut Ozil is a player that brings vast experience to a rather youthful Arsenal side and adds that extra bite of creativity that at times Arsenal misses in the final third of the pitch. He has been capped by Germany some 47 times and it will be interesting to see how the Arsenal midfield will line up with Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Santiago Cazorla all as options.
He is best positioned behind the front two forwards and Olivier Giroud will not complain of insufficient service. He is got great vision and an eye for a pass and also very good at picking out players on the break. Ask Ronaldo, the German’s vision was almost unmatched at the Santiago Bernabeu.
For Arsenal, this is a massive buy that rival clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United must be reeling. If this was Wenger’s way of announcing his title intentions, then we are going to have one of the most exciting seasons in the recent past.
So will it be? Man Utd or City? Chelsea and Tottenham? Maybe Arsenal. We shall see!
