In a study which followed nearly 30,000 men over eight years, researchers found that those that ejaculated 21 times per month or more were 30 per cent less likely to get prostate cancer, compared to men that ejaculated four to seven times a month.
Researchers found that men experiencing more than 12 ejaculations per month would start seeing the benefit – on average every second day or so.
According to Graham Giles, who led the study and told New Scientist, “Increased ejaculation may allow the prostate gland to clear itself of carcinogens or of materials that form a substrate for the development of carcinogens.”
Another theory is that frequent drainage of prostate fluid stops tiny crystalloid microcalcifications – which have been associated with prostate cancer – from forming in the prostate duct, blocking the flow of fluid.
Most of the fluid you ejaculate is secreted by the prostate gland. If you stop ejaculating, the fluid stays in the gland, which tends to swell, causing lots of problems. Regular ejaculation will wash those fluids out and ensure the well being of your prostate until old age.
