How many vintage items do you have in your wardrobe?
Yes, I do have vintage items in my closet. I can’t exactly say how many but I do have a few pieces.
Do you have a fetish for trends?
Definitely. Trends are my thing. Much as I might not follow some, but I appreciate them.
Which is the one item in your wardrobe that you would never let go of?
I have my brown braces (suspender), that once belonged to my father, I love them. Then I also have the original Ray Ban aviator sunglasses, that I got from an uncle who is now 65 years old!
Who has the biggest influence on your fashion choices?
I do not really have a favorite designer. I usually pick whatever I feel is good for me. European men have the biggest influence on my fashion sense. They have this simple conservative look that makes the whole thing fabulous. They do less but speak volumes. Talk of clean flawless looks.
Do you have style secret?
For me, “less is more”. That is my style secret. You don’t have to overly do it, that shows you are trying too hard. Keep it simple but significant.
Which is the one trend you feel Kampala women should let go of?
Kampala women should let go of leggings. OMG! Its crazy how these women wear leggings and do not know which kind of body shape suits leggings. Plus in this hot kasana of ours….leggings?
How would you define your personal style?
My style is urban street fashion.
Which celebrity’s wardrobe would you wish to get your styling skills on, and give a total revamp?
That would be Fille! This girl has great music, got great features but her dressing robs her of her shine. I would love to give her a whole new look that actually matches her music. She needs that star dust, If you know what I mean.
Which international celebrity’s wardrobe would you die to have?
I would die for Adam Levine’s closet. He’s more of a skinny-jeans-and-loose-tees kind of guy. And that is definitely my look. You can never go wrong. Plus he kills it with his fancy hair cuts.
Do you have any memorable wardrobe malfunction?
Let me see….I think when I wore green jeans, yellow tee, and a red cap! That’s like 10 years ago in school. I looked like the Jamaican flag. God damn it, what was I thinking?
How much of your monthly budget do you spend on your wardrobe?
Honestly, I don’t keep count because I don’t plan when to buy clothes. I shop on impulse(which very bad by the way). If something catches my eye, I shall get it regardless of when I last did my shopping.
You can never have enough of…
I can never have enough of white tees and sunglasses. Sunglasses are like my next best think apart from my parents. lol… Silly me, huh? I love sunnies in all forms, but Ray Ban aviators top my list.
If you were to auction off all your skinny jeans, how much would you want them to be sold at?
My dear, there would be no auctioning here, because I wouldn’t let them go in the first place. I think I have attachments to them given they are a bit pricey. Lol… May be if I passed on!
