This week, we are crushing on Brian Ahumuza, the proprietor of the Abraynz collection. This guy is what we call the trend maniac. He is definitely keen on the latest trends, and seems to always have on something trendy when he steps out.

Your style sense is………..

My style sense is vast. It will vary depending on how it is I want to express myself. It all depends on; the mood, weather, event, and the occasion. I am more comfortable in fitting cloths, though.

What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion, to me, is more than clothes. It’s a way of expressing one’s inner self. It’s also a business, and it’s what I live for now.

Tell us something we don’t know about your wardrobe?

One thing people don’t know is that I have 3 wardrobes. You can only know this if you visit my house. Then my wardrobe consists of lots and lots of shoes. I love shopping shoes. But surprising, I wear like three of my favorites most on a daily basis.

What are some of your fashion No-No’s?

I don’t wear jewellery. You won’t catch me wearing watches, necklaces, ear pins, or chains.  Don’t even think I own a piece of jewellery in my wardrobe.

How much effort do you put in choosing your outfit?

I put in lots of effort because I want to make a statement when I step out. But that is occasional, like if I am attending an event or party.

As a stylist, is it easier working with men or women?

It’s definitely easier with the men. Not just because I deal in men’s clothing, but because women have a lot of items when it comes to their clothes. There is always something new coming up, because we have gotten enough of the leggings, then there is sheer, and the like. It’s too much. So I would find it easier with the men’s items.

What is your style secret?

Ohhh.. I have a tailor who redoes my clothes, to make sure they are a perfect fit.

What are some of the irritating fashion blunders you notice with our celebrities?

Kampala women… plus size women that squeeze themselves into very tiny clothing, then those that  show lots of skin, damn! Then there are those that pimp up themselves in too much colour in the hair, the colourful clothes, gosh!

Which celebrity’s wardrobe would you wish to get your styling skills on, and give a total revamp?

If I said someone was lacking, in terms of their fashion, it would be an insult. Because, fashion is about being comfortable. However I would love to work with Bebe cool, and Irene Namubiru, not because they are lacking, but because I am a big fan of these two.

What is your emergency outfit?

I love vests and am comfortable with them. So my emergency outfit would definitely be a vest, a pair of jeans, and loafers.

With the ever changing trends in fashion, how easy is it for your wardrobe to catch up, with this?

I own a number of clothing stores and I travel to go shopping occasionally, so it’s pretty much the easiest thing for me. I live for fashion.

Any fashion tips you would like to share?

First of all, fit is king. Let go of those ill-fitting cloths. 2. Always keep it simple. 3. Always stay a notch above the rest! Ohh, plus  everyone should invest in a superb pair of shoes.
