Hard time might not be an ideal situation, but for one man, it’s proven better than the alternative: having to stay at home with his nagging wife. There’s a reason they call marriage the “ball and chain,” you know.
“A man in Tuscany has begged to be put in prison in a bid to escape his ‘unbearable’ wife, local police said on Thursday,”The Local reports. “The 32-year-old Tunisian, who was under house arrest for drug dealing, went to the police on Tuesday afternoon and asked to serve the rest of his sentence in jail.” Jeez, you’d think the wife would get the hint already.
That’s right, he’d rather stay in a dormitory full of felons, convicts and vagrants than have to hear his wife nag him again about leaving wet towels on the bed. Maybe he should’ve spent more of that drug money on marital therapy.
The court granted his request, allowing him to go from his house to the big house. Unfortunately, it can’t do much about the wife’s complaining. After all, as the saying goes, “Marriage isn’t a word, it’s a sentence. A life sentence.”
Hopefully, the man’s experience will convince him to stay out of trouble with the law, if only to avoid his wife’s incessant complaining about why he was arrested in the first place.
