The Atlantic reported that a Harvard bound guy posted an ad in the “writing gigs” section of Craigslist in Pittsburgh looking for someone to attend classes in his place for $40,000 a year.
The ad has since been flagged for removal because you know Craigslist — they’re so paranoid about maintaining that spotless reputation of theirs online.
According to the post, in order to get the job all you have to do is have a 4.0 GPA in high school or a 3.5 or higher GPA at a university. Oh, and since the poster is a male, only guys can apply. Sorry, ladies.
If selected for the job, you’d have to attend and pass all classes for the full four years starting August 2014. The expenses are totally covered, which include tuition, books, transportation and living expenses. And there’s a $10,000 bonus after graduation.
It sounds like a great opportunity until you learn that the starting salary of a Harvard grad is about $60,000 a year. The worst part of the deal is once you’ve “graduated” you have no official college degree.
