Maurice Kirya is set to release a special tribute song to her late mother, Sophie Baguma. Dubbed ‘Mama We Made it’, the single off Maurice Kirya’s third studio album ‘Mwooyo’ explores the special love Kirya shared with the mum.

Speaking about the upcoming song, he said, “Next Friday, I will release ‘Mama We Made it’ off the album ‘Mwooyo’. A very special song about a very special love!”

In an earlier interview, Kirya revealed that he shared a special bond with the mother and she would always cheer him on even when things were not going well.

“My mother is the reason as to why I am. We went through all struggles together and she always kept cheering me on even when things went south,” he revealed.

Sophie passed away weeks back after succumbing to cancer, an ailment she had been struggling with for sometime. She was laid to her final resting place at her ancestral home in Rwenkoole along Masindi-Hoima road.
