Malawi will welcome Uganda Cranes on 6th July, 2015 for an international friendly match on the national day celebrations of Malawi.
The news was revealed yesterday during the weekly press conference at FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.
The two sides played to a goalless draw last year in July at Namboole Stadium as they prepared for their 2015 AFCON qualifier games. At the time, Uganda was due to face off with Mauritania while Malawi were to take on Benin.
According to Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Micho Sredojevic, Uganda will use the game to prepare the Under-23 National team (the Kobs) for their forth coming Africa U-23 Championship qualifier game against Egypt.
The Kobs will play away to Egypt in Alexandria between 17th and 19th July for the first leg before later hosting Egypt in Kampala early August.
The clash between Malawi will be the fourth international friendly for the Cranes in 2015 having played Nigeria who they edged by 1-0 thanks to Farouk Miya’s efforts and the most recent being a one-all draw against Gambia at Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
