Makerere Tourism fraternity held a leadership handover and finalists dinner at Esella Country Hotel in Najeera on Friday night.
Private sector stakeholders, academia and students attended the dinner that focused on partnerships and a campaign to rebrand Makerere University Tourism Association (MUTA).
Guest of Honour & Alumnus Dr. Aheebwa Wilber tasked the incoming executive to come up with a work plan with guidance of the administration. He also raised 600,000 Uganda shillings from the lecturers to support the leadership.
Felex Musinguzi, Managing Director Kazinga tours contributed 300,000 Uganda shillings towards the dinner and purchase of the auction item.
The incoming President, Otafiire thanked the outgoing President, Regan Tumwebaze for the selfless leadership and promised the launch of a MUTA website.
The night also included dance party and memoirs of year three students.
