Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) president Eng. Moses Magogo seemed to be very much excited after he was invited by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) to witness one of the most important ceremonies in the history of football, the FIFA Ballon d’Or.
Magogo who already travelled to Zurich, Switzerland along with his counterpart and FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson is to be part of the FIFA Ballon d’Or ceremony in which the best player for the year 2014 will be named tonight.
The final shortlist for the 2014 award includes:
1. FIFA World Cup winner, the German goalie and Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer
2. Argentina four time Ballon d’Or winner and 2014 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball victor Lionel Messi
3. 2014 UEFA champions’ league and FIFA club world cup winner Cristiano Ronaldo who is also the current holder of the award.
As the football president in Uganda, Magogo is expected to have a chat with the World’s soccer president Joseph Sepp Blatter on matters regarding the game in Uganda on its present and the future in terms of development.
