Maddox Semanda Ssematimba was one of Uganda’s music greats in the late 90’s. Then based in Sweden, he did songs like Namagembe. He returned to Uganda several years ago but his career nose dived because of personal problems like debts that saw him serve time in Luzira Maximum prison. Last Wednesday he performed at Venom. This could be his U-turn.
Madoxx aka David Ssemanda Ssematimba was born in Kampala, Uganda. He attended Makonzi Boarding Primary School and Busoga College Mwiri. After secondary school he worked as a primary school teacher with “Christian Life Childrens’ Home”, a school that was one of those funded by an NGO called “Feed The Children”. In 1991 he moved to Sweden.
Madoxx has continued to breathe the hottest Reggae Riddims on the Ugandan scene. His incredibly unique vocals and strong message in his songs puts him in a stellar position when it comes to Reggae in Uganda, Africa and the entire world.
