League debutants Lweza football club stunned the Red Eagles of Express FC in the Wankulukuku derby on Saturday as the FUFA Azam Premier League continues amidst a court injunction that prohibits the league sponsors Azam pay TV from televising any live matches.
Two goals from Cranes midfielder Geoffrey Sserunkuma and his counterpart Francis Sembatya were enough to hand the Kajjansi based side victory as Richard Ssemazzi scored the only consolation for the Red Eagles at the Mutesa II royal Stadium, Wankulukuku.
The win saw Lweza rise to 9th on 20 points from 16 games just behind rivals Express who remained in the 8th spot at 21 points from 16 matches.
Meanwhile, at the Bugembe Stadium, a 10-man Bright Stars under the charges of Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajjoba condemned Sadolin Paints to a 1-0 defeat forcing them into their second consecutive defeat since the resumption of the second round of the FUFA Azam Premier League. Jimmy Lule scored the only game of the game.
The result saw the Kawempe based side Bright Stars advance to 5th place on 24 points from 16 games while Sadolin Paints were relegated to the 10th spot on the 16-team log.
Elsewhere, Police F.C were held to a one-all draw by struggling Entebbe F.C at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium.
