Kirinya -Jinja SS crowned FUFA Big League champions

By Robert Kayindi James

Kirinya Jinja SS edged Arua based side Onduparaka FC 2-0 to win the 2015/2016 FUFA Big League title in a final played on Sunday afternoon at heart of Kampala at the Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium.

Onduparaka topped the Elgon Group of the Big League to book a date with Kirinya who topped the Rwenzori Group as the two sides earned straight promotions to the 2016/2017 Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).

Musa Magumba broke the deadlock just a minute to half time to give the Jinja based side a well-deserved lead. Two minutes into the second half, Joel Madondo doubled the lead for Kirinya.

All subsequent efforts from either side were fruitless hence ending the game 2-0 and Kirinya were crowned champions.

They also become the fourth Jinja based team to join the topflight after Bul FC, Sadolin Paints and JMC Hippos.
