Emma Carlos the manager of young and talented artiste Khalifah Aganaga of the Ndabirawa fame has expressed his anger towards the organisers of the Zzina Entertainment awards.
“Am speaking in my capacity as Chairman UTAMA (Uganda Talent Managers’ Association). I have just read the nominees of the Zina Entertainment Awards but how can you award a producer and Bivulu Promoter and leave out the Talent Manager.” the Twinkle star agency boss ranted. Emma equated this to a kid on their graduation day that recogizes the nurse and teacher leaving out the parent or guardian who could have contributed much more to the kid’s studies.
“It’s only logical that you reward managers, funny enough these are the people you are always in constant touch with when you need the Artiste/Comedian/Dancer.” He added.
Emma concluded by saying that he was disappointed in the awards and advised the organizers to consider doing thorough consultations, may be next time.
The Zzina awards were launched on Friday 21st February by Galaxy FM. They were launched in the VIP wing at Club Amnesia. The Galaxy FM managing director Innocent Nahabwe confirmed the awards will take place in April. “The entire process will be determined through the public vote,” he stated.
