The Queen’s language murderer, CEO Big Talent, Idrissa Musuza alias Eddy Kenzo has declared the HiPipo Awards that were held over the weekend, Saturday 8th Feb, at Wonder World Auditorium, mere ‘politics’ and the voting was not something serious to go by. He further stated that it should have been him or Good Lyfe, but not Bebe Cool for artiste of the year.
He took to his Facebook timeline where he posted: “Politics politics politics mu industry nze ndowoza twandiyimbye buyimbi otherwise amazima gafuse quinine.”
Then later, he added heaping praise on the GoodLyfe duo: “Magnetic, obudde, fiting, ekyama, amaso, hehehe on my side 2013, Radio & Weasel big up we need to appreciate good work guys.”
We don’t know whether this is a new way of picking up beef with the proud East African star Bebe Cool, but most respected artistes in Uganda’s music industry have come out on social media to blast the HiPipo awards claiming that Bebe Cool was an undeserving winner for the Artiste of the Year accolade.
“Stamina” star Eddy Kenzo has even put his brutal beef with Good Lyfe on the side and delivered a pinching verdict on the just concluded music awards that had Bebe Cool take home six awards including Artiste of the Year.
As we all know, 2013 wasn’t outstanding a year for Bebe Cool as it was for other stars like Radio and Weasel who were for the first time in Uganda’s music history nominated for BET awards, but organizers of the Hipipo Awards surprised many, including Bebe himself, when he(Bebe) was handed six awards including, Male Artiste and Artiste of the Year awards.
Mowzey Radio and Weasel only managed to walk away with one award for Best Duo. On the other hand, Kenzo who claims to have had an outstanding 2013 with songs like “Kamunguluze”, “Stress Free”, “Zoom Zoom” among others went home empty handed.
