In the world of sports, it’s not news that KCCA or Uganda Sports sector has failed to manage their teams but this comes as a shock when Kampala Capital City Authority under the E.D Jeniffer Musiisi c/o sports department has failed to raise fees to cater for a Kampala based net ball team to go and participate in the league competitions that were held at Mandela national stadium.
According to one league official, he was embarrassed to say “We were surprised as KCCA couldn’t raise transport for players to and from Namboole or even give the players money to take them back home.”
It’s not a surprise that other teams failed also to turn up. We don’t know whether it’s the problem of the nation’s sports department or it’s the negligence of the management of the specific sports team. Because we have also learnt that Kampala International University and Mbarara Netball Club and Blue stars have failed to turn up. Rumors have it that these teams will face the league disciplinary committee to face charges for distorting and not honoring the league’s fixtures.
