With just hours left on the clock to the closure of the January transfer window, Uganda premier League (UPL) defending champions Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) have completed the signing of Uganda Cranes defender Savio Kabugo.

“Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC is delighted to announce the signing of Savio Kabugo on a one year deal,” the yellows confirmed on their official website.

Kabugo is famous for having scored Uganda’s only goal in the Cranes’ 1-0 victory against Ghana during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole and he now becomes the second player KCCA have signed from Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) after the heroic return of goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan.

The 20-year-old defender becomes the fifth player to be signed by KCCA in the January transfer window after they secured the services of Francis Olaki, Timothy Awani, Benjamin Ochan and Baker Lukoya whose transfer confirmation from FUFA is pending after Kiira Young contested his move just a few hours after his announcement by the Lugogo based club.

KCCA have signed Kabugo in a bid to replace Richard Kasagga who earlier left for Lebanon.
