Ugandan singer Kalifah Aganaga has revealed that he spent over UGX 200 million while contesting in the Kawempe North by-elections.

Kalifah Aganaga, known for his music career, participated in the election under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party flag.
Despite his efforts, he finished in the fifth place with 239 votes.
The election was won by Elias Nalukoola of the National Unity Platform (NUP), who secured 17,764 votes, followed by Faridah Nambi Kigongo of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), who received 8,593 votes.
Kalifah’s participation in politics has sparked discussion about musicians joining leadership roles. However, his performance in the elections suggests that gaining political support may be more challenging than gaining fans in the music industry.
He has not yet confirmed whether he will continue his political ambitions or return to focusing on his music career.
