Singer and politician Kalifah Aganaga has expressed readiness to return to the campaign trail following a High Court decision to nullify the victory of Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate.

“If it means going back to the polls, I am available, I am ready,” Kalifah Aganaga said in a statement, showing his determination to remain active in politics despite his earlier defeat.
Kalifah Aganaga contested in the parliamentary election under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party. However, he finished in fifth place, managing only 239 votes.
The seat was originally won by NUP’s Elias Nalukoola with 17,764 votes, followed by National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Faridah Nambi Kigongo, who got 8,593 votes.
The High Court ruling has now opened the possibility of a by-election, and Kalifah Aganaga appears keen to take another shot at representing his constituency.
The court’s decision has caused fresh political debate in the area, and the Electoral Commission is expected to release a formal plan for the next steps.
