Police raided Bieber’s Calabasas, CA home in January to investigate claims that the ‘Confident’ star damaged his neighbour’s property by throwing eggs.
Bieber’s friend Lil Za was arrested at the culmination of that police search on suspicion of cocaine possession.
Lt Dave Thompson of the LA County Sheriff’s Department has now told TMZ that he has recommended that the district attorney prosecute Bieber for felony vandalism.
“I went to the DA’s Office today with the paperwork, and I want a felony. Of course I want a felony,” the officer told the website.
The decision on whether Bieber will be charged is expected to be made next week.
Bieber is currently facing separate driving-related charges in Miami, as well as an assault charge in Toronto for an alleged scuffle with a limo driver.
