As she prepares to celebrate her birthday on November 27th, Juliana Kanyomozi has taken a moment to reflect on just how much her life has changed over the past decade and a half.
In a message to her followers, the legendary songbird shared a heartfelt look into her personal growth, shifting priorities, and evolving mindset.
Juliana revealed that in her earlier years, she was quite the social butterfly.
“I was a party animal, I loved to party,” she said. “I wasn’t crazy crazy into partying but yes, I used to like going out. Going to the club on Friday, a barbecue on Saturday… I was that type. Right now I’m the complete opposite of that.”
These days, the superstar says she no longer enjoys the fast-paced nightlife she once embraced. Instead, she finds comfort in peace, solitude, and slow evenings at home.
She humorously admitted that she now makes excuses when friends invite her to hang out, because her perfect evening has become one spent indoors with a warm drink and a relaxing movie.
Beyond lifestyle changes, Juliana shared that her emotional boundaries have also evolved. She no longer tolerates what she once did.
“Another thing, Juliana of 15 years ago would take a lot. Like I used to tolerate a lot. It was easy for people to do things and get away with it and I’d probably not say anything… the Juliana in recent years even shocks me and I think it comes with age,” she explained.
“As you get older you get more confident about yourself and you’re more aware of who you are and what you tolerate and what you won’t tolerate. The Juliana in recent times will tell you that you did this and this I don’t like and don’t do it again.”
She also noted that she is now more mindful of what she consumes — from food choices to her overall wellbeing.
Even with all these changes, Juliana’s passion for music remains as strong as ever. But what’s new is her desire to make decisions that don’t only benefit her, but also uplift others.
“I’m still passionate about the music itself but there are decisions I’m starting to make lately… I know you’ll see some of these things in the near future. I’m not looking at benefiting me but they’ll benefit other people,” she said.
“I’m grateful with how God has blessed me with this amazing career but every day before I go to bed, the thing that’s on my mind is what I can do that will benefit younger artists or anybody else in the business.”
