Chameleone is, perhaps, bracing himself for his historic One Million Concert. A show that will etch its name on a rock. And the music doctor is juggling ways to build momentum to draw traffic to Serena Hotel where history will be made come December. All this, by the way, I am thinking out loud; trying to play a devil’s advocate. Chameleone, in doing so, has steadily remained musically relevant; churning out track-after-track and seemingly state-of-the-art music videos that are bound to hover in our eyes for yonks.
Here, he comes with Milliano. Cheesy title, I know. For a person who called himself Chameleone would obviously come up with anything cuckoo as a title for his songs. And the trailer to this song is out. To sound plainly blunt and squeaky honest, the audio is akin to most (if not all) of his repertoire of songs, but the video sticks out like a toe with a bruise. I discredit Chameleone for sounding the same in every song regardless of the fact that he always, surprisingly, comes off unharmed. It is a path trudged and braved by geniuses. And he is a genius, Jose. For a person who has slouched on number one position atop all over gazillion artistes in Uganda as far as rankings are concerned, you, surely, are tempted to doff a hat for him.
Milliano, to me, promises to be like Wale Wale. Shot from the faraway countryside locale. A dusty-brown feeder road is seen in the video. A figure of a girl is shown planted besides the road, waiting for someone to wheel her off to her destination. Chameleone skims a battered piece of automobile. It looks like a tractor. At least to me. But that reveals how creative the video is. I love the once-upon-a-time attire Chameleone dons in this. He flaunts a comical figure, his rickety frame, even though hidden in modish clothing, comes off witty. He lugs a giant brownish bag. And he whisks off the woman. I love the video already if the trailer is anything to go by. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the final cut.
