When Jose Chameleone announced that his One Man, One Million concert is not for his own selfish gains but rather to support the underprivileged people in the Karamoja region, some said that he was joking. They thought that, like Desire Luzinda, he would divert the funds from his show meant for Charity and use the money for his own personal businesses. Chameleone, has however proved these people wrong by contracting a Chinese firm to build 100 boreholes in Karamoja region from the proceeds of his One Million concert.
According to the new deal, Chogging Gold Mechanical & Electrical Equipment Company Ltd, will build 100 boreholes for close to 1.5 million each. Reliable sources have further revealed that each borehole will have a solar panel on it and a pump as instructed by the Wale Wale singer.
The singer called upon people to support him on this venture and revealed that he will increase the number of boreholes should he get more people attending his one million concert.
“As an artiste, I am a tool of development. I want to invest my tool and contribute towards change in Karamoja. If we can be patriotic and attend the 1 Man│1 Show│1 Million concert, we can possibly raise money for 100 boreholes that would be a big development in Karamoja.” Chameleone said recently.
The concert is slated for December 18th at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Guests can pay for tickets at 1,000,000shs each.
