On Monday, Joel Khamadi was the male news anchor on NBS’ ‘Live at 9’ news bulletin, in place of Samson Kasumba, who viewers love to hate and love in equal measure because of his unconventional anchoring.
When the time for Live at 9 clocked, instead of Kasumba reading the news with Sheila Tusiime, he was filmed driving home after delivering what seemed like goodbyes in the studio.
Kasumba joined NBS Television in 2016 and has been at the helm of news anchoring there, where he has also scored big interviews such as that of President Kagame, among others, to his journalistic career CV.
As witnessed, Khamadi is great and gels well with Sheila Tusiime. But again, Kasumba has always said he isn’t about to leave television. Could it be true that he is leaving? Was he forced off-screen? Has he fallen in things elsewhere that he couldn’t resist quitting TV? Whatever the case, we shall keep you posted.
