In his address, H.E Kevin Colgan, eloquently captured the essence of the enduring partnership and the evolution of both Ireland and Uganda over the past three decades.

Highlighting the significant strides made in bilateral cooperation, Ambassador Colgan emphasised the commitment of the Irish government towards fostering development initiatives in Uganda, with a substantial budget allocation over the next five years.

“Before I look back 30 years, let me just note that – since I spoke here a year ago, our government has approved our five-year strategy – with a budget of some 100m Euros for development partnerships in Uganda over a period of five years. I am sure that this is a firm foundation for the next 30 years of friendship and cooperation between our countries and between the Irish and the Ugandan people.” He said.

“The Irish have long held a special affinity for Guinness, and their unwavering love for this iconic stout is profound. It is heartening to witness their deep-rooted understanding of the Guinness Perfect Serve, a campaign we are rolling out to ensure every bottle of the iconic brew is poured and enjoyed just as it should be,” she added.
