Bright Stars Football Club head coach, Fred Kajoba has revealed that he refused to take up a job at Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) side, Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC).
“Yes, I refused to take up the coaching job at URA F.C. First and foremost, I am still contracted at Bright Stars F.C. Then also, I am committed towards my job 101% at Bright Stars F.C,” the former Uganda Cranes international told Kawowo.
Kajoba says he was approached by the four time league champions for a coaching spot at the Lugazi based club. He however adds that it would have been betrayal to join another club when he still has a contract with the Kawempe based club.
“Accepting the URA F.C job would have been betrayal to Bright Stars F.C. I enjoy top class relations with the management of Bright Stars F.C and the playing staff. It would be total betrayal,” he added.
With that deal having failed to pull through, the Tax collectors will have to look elsewhere for a new manager. In the meantime, they remain under the charges of former Uganda Cranes assistant coach, Kefa Kisala who recently guided them to 2016 Mapinduzi Peace Cup victory.
URA F.C open their second round of the Azam Uganda Premier league with a tie against current table leaders KCCA F.C at the Nakivubo stadium tomorrow.
