By James Robert Kayindi

Four days after his sacking, Sam Ssimbwa has finally spoken out on why he left SC Villa even before receiving an official letter relieving him of his duties at Villa Park.

Ssimbwa pointed out several issues that he was unhappy with while still with the 16-time record champions. He said:

“They appointed Phillip Obwiny and I told them I couldn’t work under a junior coach while taking commands from him. They also signed players against my own will. Players like Akim Magumba claiming that it’s the fans who wanted him and I had to live with it. The fans continuously accused me of being a KCCA fan who never wished anything good for their club yet I did my job well as a coach.”

He however said that he will not be taking over from Abdallah Mubiru at KCCA as speculation puts it. He said he can’t go behind anyone’s back and take on their jobs though he did not rule out joining them or any other club if the job was available.
