Friday was a day like any other for NTV Zungululu presenter, Ivan Kyeyune, when he ordered for an uber to head home in the night, until things turned really ugly.
The funnyman who always entertains his viewers with the funny side of news from around the week, was heading home on Friday night when he called several Ubers and they, were busy for some reason.
This is when he decided to take a random bodaboda from Tuskeys supermarket in Ntinda only to find out that it was the worst decision that he has made in a long time.
Apparently, the popular news slot presenter, who was heading home choose the wrong guy for the job of delivering him home safe last Friday. The boda guy like many boda guys in Kampala that dupe and sometimes hurt customers took him off-road into the deep side of Kyambodo yet he was heading to Namugongo.
Kyeyune sense trouble when he noticed a boda boda following them and on further scrutiny realized that apart from the rider there were two other men acting as passengers on the Boda boda.
Things got out of hand when he asked his boda guy why he was going deep down in Kyambogo off the main road yet they were supposed to be heading to Namugongo. The guy simply responded; “Are you scared? If you are I can leave this shorter route and join the main road.”
Moments later the second Boda boda got close and this is when the NTV presenter decided to jump off and run for his life. Things turned uglier when one of the passengers on the second boda decided to chase him with a panga in his had. As fate would have it, Kyeyune was meant to have a cut on his hand that night and so he did. He, however, managed to escape, thanks to the barking dogs in a nearby home that scared the villans away.
He was saved by a good samaritan in an approaching vehicle to the scene who decided to take him to Life Link clinic.
We thank God he is alive and well and will continue to give the comic side of Luganda news on Fridays.
