Ugandan artistes Herbert Skillz and Weasel Manizo have teamed up for “Wumula,” an emotional collaborative song honouring late Goodlyfe star Mowzey Radio.

The official music video was released on the Radio & Weasel Goodlyfe YouTube channel, with both Herbert Skillz and Weasel contributing vocals. Herbert Skillz also produced the track, making it a joint musical project rather than a solo release by Weasel.

“Wumula,” which means “rest” or “sleep well” in Luganda, carries a mournful message of loss, cherished memories and the hope of meeting again. The lyrics reflect the pain of losing a loved one, with repeated calls for the departed to rest in peace.

The song pays tribute to Mowzey Radio, whose real name was Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo. He died on February 1, 2018, aged 33, following complications from a severe head injury sustained during a bar altercation in Entebbe.

As one half of Radio & Weasel under Goodlyfe Crew, Radio helped shape a generation of Ugandan music through his distinctive vocals and a sound blending R&B, reggae, dancehall and Afrobeat influences.

The duo became household names with hits such as “Nakudata,” “Lwaki Onumya” and “Bread and Butter,” earning fans across Uganda and the wider East African region.

The release of “Wumula” follows studio clips shared by Herbert Skillz in early October, when he posted footage with Weasel and described their sessions as creating “magic.”

Fans have responded emotionally to the collaboration, with some praising it as a lasting piece of art and others reaffirming that Radio remains unforgettable. The song has also prompted listeners to remember other artistes who have passed away.

Through their joint vocals, Herbert Skillz and Weasel are keeping Radio’s memory alive while celebrating the musical bond and legacy associated with Goodlyfe.

“Wumula” is available on YouTube, giving fans another opportunity to remember one of Uganda’s most celebrated musical voices.
