HelloFood Uganda was awarded Best E-commerce (Store/Service) award at the 2015 Digital Impact Awards Africa held at Kampala Serena hotel recently.
The Digital Impact Awards, in their second year, aim to recognize and reward companies who are innovative in their use of digital mediums to improve the customer experience. Winners are selected by a jury comprising leading entrepreneurs, innovators, academics, consultants, policy makers and thought leaders, and award categories span the domains of web, mobile, social, cybersecurity and digital financial services.
Hellofood offers the consumers the convenience to order food online from more than 150 of the best restaurants in Kampala and Entebbe in Uganda. Customers can choose their favorite meal online and have it delivered to them.
Hellofood also helps restaurants to increase delivery sales through online and mobile platforms, and provides them with constantly evolving technology and analytics.

Competition in the category was of a very high level, with nominations for Jumia, Brighter Monday and Freelancer.
The panel of judges of this year’s awards was chaired by former MUK VC, Prof Venansius Baryamureeba and also had Prof Maggie kigozi, Minister of Trade, Industry and cooperatives, Hon Amelia Kyambadde and IBM UK Managing consultant, Dr Frederick Wamala. The event featured music performances from Bebe Cool, Naira Ali and Laguu.
