Heineken Uganda treated football lovers to a memorable UEFA champions league final at Legends Sports Bar, Kampala as Barcelona took on Juventus F.C in Berlin, Germany on 6th June. To bring the excitement of the world class tournament to fans, Heineken hosted the final match screening in an exclusive event open to the public.

The final match screening was part of the momentum of ‘Champion the match’ campaign that Heineken had launched when the games kicked off in February 2015.

Heineken Uganda Sales Manager Nathan Akandwanaho, at the exclusive live screening of the UEFA Champions League finals, noted that it was an evening to celebrate legendary artistry in the form of world-class football.

“This year’s UEFA Champions League tournament has been to say the least legendary with fantastic football action on the pitch. Off the pitch, Heineken launched the limited edition UEFA Champions League ‘trophy’ bottle that was designed to reward our consumers with a trophy of their own as they enjoyed the match nights,” Nathan Akandwanaho said.

He added: “The ‘trophy’ bottle launch, tonight’s final match screening is part of the exciting “Champion the Match” campaign, born out of the insight that fans know that UEFA Champions League match nights are worth a little more effort to make it memorable. Since the kick off of the UEFA Champions League games in February we have received full support from our trade partners, our esteemed consumers and members of the fourth estate and are indeed grateful that the campaign has culminated on the same high note that we started with.”

Heineken, the worlds’ most international premium beer, is a proud sponsor of the UEFA Champions League.
