China Southern Airlines, China’s largest carrier, is set to officially launch operations this Thursday 11th June 2015 in Kampala to support its newest East African destination route via Nairobi. The Chinese airline will ply the Guangzhou-Nairobi route three times a week, starting August. The carrier will operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday flights between the two cities using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft which can carry 300 passengers.
The airline has been operational since 1988 with the main hub in Guangzhou, and two others in Beijing and Urumqi. It is a 4 star airline according to Skytrax and a member of the sky team alliance for 15 years.
According to a statement released by the Airline Head office in Guangzhou, their service will enable the business community with direct dealings in China to travel faster at a lower rate. The airline has promised to introduce direct flights from Entebbe to Guangzhou in a few months. China Southern Airlines promises to deliver safe and reliable air travel, with value for money.
The GSA Marketing Officer in Kampala; Ms. Becky Nampamba confirms that the official launch ceremony in Kampala will be graced by the Senior Vice President of China Southern Airlines and a host of high ranking executives from China, Nairobi and Dar-as-salaam where its operations are already established.
The Airline boasts of a worldwide clean safety record with a fleet of over 200 Airline carriers.
