The dread-locked artistic reggae star Dan Besigye alias Menshan has been off the Pearl of Africa’s music scene for a while now and Bigeye.Ug team has been quizzed several times about the whereabouts of the deep voiced fella that used to make girls scream their lungs out.
Menshan born 33 years ago to Grace and John Besigye, residents of Entebbe, came to the limelight in the mid 1990’s where he used to hang out with his music buddies; Bebe Cool, Kid Fox, Kristo Fabulous and his long-time friend Peter Miles who used to be backup singers and curtain raisers for the stars then.
Menshan and his long-time buddy Peter Kanyiike alias Peter Miles, who also hails from Entebbe, molded a good team who would give powerful, energetic and vibrant performances that used to drive audiences into a frenzy.
The two met way back in their high school times where they used to do free style music. It was such a strong duo that one name wouldn’t make any sense without pronouncing the other. The “rackus” stars made a mark all over Uganda and the whole of East Africa.
But for close to half a decade now, the name Menshan has not surfaced and made any meaning on the music scene. Several questions have been paused; “has Peter miles deserted Menshan?”, “did the duo fight over something to the extent of a break up?” but still no answers. Apparently, Peter Miles does solo music now.

Menshan was a man of few words off stage so we don’t know whether the words were over for good that he had to go quiet for this entire time. So, if any of the friends or fans of the heavy voice and the duo has any information about the whereabouts of Menshan, let us know.
