The uganda Cranes team led by the head Coach Mitcho have earned an amazing take off for the friendly match with Botswana on Friday before camping in Turkey after which they will take on Senegal on September 7.
State House has chartered a plane at a cost of Shs 559,000,000 to fly 150 Ugandans to Senegal and return the same day after the match according to the Presidential Communications Assistant, Sarah Kagingo. Kagingo continued to say that the morale boosters will sure cheer our Cranes.
The President, a former footballer, handed over a dummy cheque of Shs 384,000,000 to the Cranes as Government support to the team, to take care of training, tickets, allowances and accommodation. Prior to the waving off, the whole team dined with the president as they received blessings at state house, Entebbe.
The President has also ordered his staff to improvise a way of supporting the team members with monthly allowances to sustain enhance their living and enable them concentrate on training and planning how to win matches.
