Cops say a Washington man wrapped a bag of marijuana around an arrow, then fired that arrow into a county jail Tuesday … and, when caught, gave quite a bizarre excuse. He said he was shooting at a squirrel, but “he had no explanation as to why squirrel hunting requires attaching marijuana to an arrow,” the county sheriff tells the Bellingham Herald. Better yet: The arrow didn’t end up in the second-floor, fresh-air recreation area where it was apparently headed; instead, it landed on the roof.

A civilian employee of the sheriff’s office saw the whole thing and wrote down David Wayne Jordan’s license plate number; the 36-year-old was arrested hours later. The bow was found inside his vehicle. Final weird tidbit: No one was in the jail’s exercise area when the arrow was fired. The baggie also contained another unidentified substance,KIRO 7 reports.
