The long-standing feud between Ugandan artists Grenade Official and Rickman Manrick is set to reach a dramatic conclusion in the boxing ring.
The Uganda Boxing Champions League (UBCL) has officially announced a Corporate Boxing Fight between the two singers, scheduled for December 26, 2024.
The tension between Grenade and Rickman first went public in 2023, during an altercation at the Kampala Style Brunch held at La Terezza in Kampala.
The heated exchange reportedly began due to Grenade’s unresolved feelings toward socialite Sheilah Gashumba, who was present at the event with her boyfriend, Rickman Manrick.
Witnesses at the event shared that Grenade repeatedly approached Gashumba’s table, which sparked verbal disputes.
Despite several attempts to defuse the situation, tensions erupted into a physical confrontation.
The altercation intensified when Grenade, overcome with apparent resentment, threw a glass at Rickman, causing serious injuries to his lips.
The incident ignited public interest and left many fans concerned over the artists’ safety and future in the industry.
In response, the Uganda Boxing Federation, in collaboration with UBCL, decided to organize a boxing match to provide a structured outlet for the artists to address their grievances.
This match marks a unique step in managing celebrity conflicts in a professional environment, allowing both artists to settle their differences in the ring rather than in public brawls.
