The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has announced that the government will fund its activities as regards to the Uganda Cranes and the Uganda Cubs’ forth coming away games in Mauritania and Rwanda respectively.
Late this week, the FUFA president engineer Mosses Magogo had expressed his concerns with government over the delayed facilitation for the Uganda Cranes and the Uganda Cubs following FUFA’s submission of the budget for the two games. He however had remained calm about the situation saying if the funding delayed beyond the anticipated dates, the governing body FUFA was to improvise to facilitate the two campaigns.
The Uganda Cranes are due to visit Mauritania for their second leg match of the 2015 Africa Cup Nations’ qualifiers. Cranes will head to Mauritania with an upper hand following their victory in the first leg at home ground Namboole in which they emerged victors with a 2-0 win, thanks to the goals by Brian Majwega and Geoffrey Masa not forgetting the brilliant efforts of their entire team at large. The game will be played on the 3rd of August.
Meanwhile Uganda’s junior team of U17, the Uganda cubs will also be set for action in the same weekend of 1st-3rd of August against Kagame’s young boys of U17 in their second leg of the 2015 Africa Youth qualifiers. Better than their superiors of the Uganda Cranes, they will head into that game with a 4-0 lead having beaten Rwanda in the first leg at Namboole in that early kick off.
