Uganda revenue authority has today closed Gaming international sports betting company for failing to pay taxes. The revenue authority officials sealed off the offices of the company at Ben Kiwanuka street in Kampala for failing to clear close to 300 million shillings in tax arrears.
Gaming international is one of the companies that have been exposed for non-compliance with tax laws in Uganda. A few days ago a list of such companies was published. URA estimates that close to 130 billion has been lost thanks to such companies, according to debt collection manager Abdul.
Using their online accounts, the authority made it known that Gaming International will be penalized. “We are sealing off Gaming International head offices on Ben Kiwanuka St for failure to pay shs. 280m in tax arrears. Avoid unnecessary penalties, file and pay your income tax today.” Read part of the message.
