The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has summoned all the 16 clubs in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) to a clubs’ meeting to discuss matters concerning the league and the ongoing confusion that left two matches not played on Tuesday.
The communication letter sent to all the 16 clubs was signed off by FUFA Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson and the meeting will take place on Monday 2nd March, 2015 at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.
“Top on agenda will be discussions on the Azam Uganda Premier League status. In the communication, clubs and stakeholders were reminded that the League fixtures and schedules are still on and the meeting does not in any way alter the match schedules,” reads an official statement on the federation’s website, www.fufa.co.ug.
It should be noted that a lot has been going on since the resumption of the league which was supposed to be televised live on Azam TV but all this is yet to happen following a court order that prohibited the league sponsors from televising any live matches.
During the same period FSL Chairman Hajji Abbas Kaawaase Mukasa was suspended and summoned to the disciplinary committee by the federation for going beyond his jurisdictions.
