Ahead of the 2016 Uganda Cup semi-finals, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has embarked on a charity run under their umbrella of the “FUFA Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)” where they will be collecting clothes and other items to donate to the communities.
The drive comes as a fulfillment to the declaration by the local football governing body during the launch of the 2015/2016 Uganda Cup season on 18th November 2015 that the federation would attach a humanitarian activity to support communities through the prestigious knock out tournament.
“We shall attach a CSR activity by collecting clothes and other items that we shall give back to a selected charity organisation within the region that hosts the Uganda cup final. FUFA has also asked its 32 Members to join the cause,” FUFA Spokesperson Ahmed Hussein is quoted on the federation’s website to have said during the launch of the 2015/2016 Uganda Cup.
Collections centers where people will be dropping off the items and clothes have already been designated with one at FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala, the other at Baba FM in Jinja and one in Arua.
The donations will be handed over to a charity organisation by FUFA and Uganda Cup Winners a week after the final.
The semifinals are scheduled to take place on 8th and 12th June, 2016 and will be played over two legs with the final slated for 18th June, 2016 at Nakivubo stadium, hosted by Kampala Region Football Association.
